MEDINA organized on the 25th of February, a scientific day focused on the clinical aplications of mass spectotrometry. The event brought together prestigious European scientists, specialized in LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry) and clinical diagnostic who come me from international reference centers such as the University of Barcelona, Labor Berlin, Munich University Hospital, Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge, Hospital Universitario Virgen del Roció and Fundación MEDINA. Thanks to the support of Biocrates, AB Sciex, Waters, Chromsystems y Teknokroma, the event counted with the presence of the best experts in these technologies: Milen Lazarov, Tosrten Binscheck-DomaB or Lisa Steinhauser.
The event awakened an interest reflected in the numerous attendance of researchers and professionals of the sanitary sector: more than 100 researchers and specialists in diagnostics from the hospitals of Malaga, Sevilla, Huelva, Murcia, Cordoba and Granada, researchers of 7 centers and research laboratories of Granada, some of them from the PTS, and Ph.Ds. and professionals from the University of Jaen and Granada. The different participants offered an accurate and realistic vision of the mass spectrometry technology, underlying its strength and weakness, addressing the future opportunities and challenges that will result from the implementation of this powerful bioanalytic tool.
